Children’s Week 2026 runs from Sunday, June 14 through Saturday, June 20
For nearly a decade, U.S. child advocates have promoted the third week of June as Children’s Week, a time for experts, advocates, researchers and members of Congress to put the challenges children face — and the best solutions for them — front and center.
Throughout Children’s Week 2026, First Focus Campaign for Children is leading outreach to federal lawmakers and staff on a bipartisan basis to raise awareness and drive legislative change on issues important to children. Together with state-based and national partners, Campaign policy leads are scheduling visits with congressional offices during Children’s Week to elevate six priority issues for children:
- Protecting Medicaid from any future cuts or funding freezes to protect children’s health coverage and access to care
- Ensuring the future of Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which together cover nearly half of U.S. children
- Promoting access to childhood vaccines and encouraging congressional oversight of recent administrative actions
- Prioritizing bold investments in children’s programs, including pediatric research, in FY 2027 appropriations
- Increasing the Supplemental Security Income asset limit, which has not been updated since 1984, to better support families of children with disabilities
- Protecting SNAP by delaying the SNAP cost shift and opposing the House-passed Farm bill, which ignores the impending crisis of increasing rates of child hunger
We invite child advocates across the country to join us in finding ways to elevate children’s issues with decision makers by using your voice online and in person during Children’s Week. On social media, use the hashtag #ChildrensWeek2026 to join the conversation and share your impact. If your organization is interested in partnering with us on Children’s Week 2026 activities, please contact any one of your colleagues at First Focus Campaign for Children.
