First Focus Campaign for Children sent the following letter to the lead sponsors ofthe Stabilize Medicaid and CHIP Coverage Act (H.R. 1738 / S. 646) in support of the legislation, which would allow millions of children and youth to receive stable health coverage.

Excerpt from the letter:

The First Focus Campaign for Children is dedicated to ensuring that all children and youth have access to the affordable health care they need to grow and thrive. Together, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provide millions of children with access to important medical, health, and developmental services. Yet many Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries are at risk of losing coverage due to fluctuations in income or small administrative details. This loss of coverage not only causes reduced health outcomes for children due to unstable coverage, but it also results in higher administrative costs for hospitals, health providers, and the federal government.
