Next Wednesday, July 7th, is National Juvenile Justice Call In Day, sponsored by the Campaign for Youth Justice. Over the past decade, there has been an increasing and persistent neglect of the needs of vulnerable children and families involved with our juvenile and criminal justice systems at the federal level. We have seen an erosion of the funds supporting state and local prevention and intervention efforts, a lack of attention to federal juvenile justice legislation overdue for reauthorization, and a significant lag in response to the research- and evidence-based knowledge we have gained about what works in preventing delinquency and youth gang involvement. We encourage you to visit the SparkAction site and take action on behalf of our vulnerable youth.
