The American Psychological Association’s Public Interest Directorate (@APAPublicInt) hosts a bimonthly Twitter chat called the “Psychology for You” (#PFYchat). On March 28 at 2 PM (ET), we will address the mental health and wellbeing of immigrant-origin children with a particular focus on:
  • children impacted by family separations due to detentions/deportations
  • refugee children and unaccompanied minors and the traumas they endure pre-, en route, and post-migration
  • mental health challenges faced by DREAMer youth/DACA recipients
We will use the #PFYchat as an opportunity to talk about the threats to the health and wellbeing of immigrant children and the ways in which health professionals, educators, and advocates can serve as a resource for them and their families.
