Letter: Mixed Support for the Dignity Act of 2023
Today, First Focus Campaign for Children sent a letter to Representatives Maria Salazar and Veronica Escobar, authors of the DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act of 2023 to express support for certain provisions in the bill as well as to express concern that in its current form, the bill includes other provisions that would result in harm to children to a degree that is unacceptable.
Excerpt from the letter:
We applaud you for developing a bipartisan immigration proposal that would take important steps to protect immigrant children and families. However, we urge you to consider our recommended changes to other provisions in the bill to ensure that it fully advances the safety, health, and wellbeing of immigrant children.
