In response to the announcement by the pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly that it will cap patient costs for insulin at $35, First Focus Campaign for Children President Bruce Lesley issued the following statement:

“We are pleased to see Eli Lilly respond to President Biden’s request to lower the cost of insulin for all Americans, including the nearly 300,000 children and young people with diabetes. We hope that others will soon follow suit. We also call on Congress to reintroduce and pass the Affordable Insulin Now Act, which would cap insulin prices at $35 a month for all children, and the Fair Drug Prices for Kids Act, which would give states the option to extend the Medicaid drug rebate program to the Children’s Health Insurance Program.”
