The First Focus Campaign for Children, a national bipartisan children’s advocacy group, has recognized U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal as a “Champion for Children” and U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy as a “Defender of Children”
The group annually selects members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate to acknowledge leaders who introduced, co-sponsored or voted for legislation to meet children’s needs.
“Lots of politicians talk about kids’ issues, but few back it up,” said Bruce Lesley, president of the Campaign for Children in a statement. “Senator Blumenthal delivered for kids.”
